Sexual Healing was first released on a small New Orleans label before the tragedy of Hurricane Katrina pushed it underground, almost lost, until its resurgence into the music scene through Quantic s DJ sets.
This magnificent cover is the first single from the Hot 8 Brass Band’s debut album on Tru Thoughts – due for release later this year – and has been hyped up, loved and played out by numerous amounts of top DJs on radio and festivals around the world including Gilles Peterson, Rob Da Bank, Coldcut and many more.
The Hot 8 Brass Band’s energetic sound embraces elements of modern, traditional and urban music, which when fused together by a brass band arsenal creates a unique, new class of music to the brass scene.
